Ubud – the cultural heart of Bali

Due to the excellent restaurants and the moderate climate and the central location on the island Ubud is probably the best place to stay if you like to explore Bali.

Ubud also offers a high variety of culture and is known as the center of artists—it is the cultural center of Bali. Besides painting and dancing the traditional balinese Gamelan-music is on very high level.
If you are lucky you can join one of the uncountable ceremonies at Ubud.

Most of the interesting cultural sights are located close to Ubud (distance from Ubud):
Campuhan (1 km)
The home town for many years of the famous artist Walter Spies and Rudolph Bonnet as well as the very interesting home and museum of Antonio Blanco. Also beautifull landscape and a perfect are for walking.

Sayan (1 km)
Very nice paddy fields—just walk in northern direction from Puri Bunga.

Goa Gaja (7 km)

A famous tourist sight right next to Ubud.

One of the most intesting sultural sights at Bali.
